Desert Oasis

Sunday, March 2, 2014  As Sunni and I were crossing the desert from Phoenix and stopped for the night at a place called Lake Tamarisk Desert Resorts.  Getting of the I-10, we were a little apprehensive because all we saw as we drove through Desert Center were abandon buildings.  Following the directions we became even more anxious as we traveled down a narrow desert road that disappeared into the mountains.  Then suddenly we arrived at the entrance of Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort.
As we turned into the palm lined drive to the resort we were greeted with waves from some golfers finishing up for the afternoon.  We found the park quaint, clean, and quiet.

The next day we walked around the park and through the greenbelts with paved walkways separating the rows of RV’s and mobile homes.  There are 150 spaces in this 25 acre resort all owned and operated by its members.  Spaces are not crowded and have ample room for patios, storage sheds and parking for vehicles.

Around the small lakes and golf course are lots and homes, some well kept up and some—not so much.  in the greater complex, there is a Riverside County Fire Department, a community center, and a library.  The resort has its own pool and clubhouse, washers and dryers, and a storage area for your toys and RV if you choose to leave them here.

We left thinking we would like to return someday and spend some time at Tamarisk.
